about

‘V rýchlosti pomaly’ (trans. ‘In speed but moving slow’) is the new recording by a trio of Slovak improvisers* who met at the A4 Space for Contemporary Culture in Bratislava in March 2018. While finding a moment in their rushed and hectic lives, the group managed to take advantage of brief visit from London based Daniel Kordik and set up a mobile recording unit right on the A4 stage.

The trio immediately found themselves constrained to focusing purely on the interactions of their sounds. What has been recorded might sound slow in pace, but one can still grasp their fast instrumental playing which reminds us of the busy lives they have briefly stepped away from. Hence its title: 'In speed but moving slow' (V rychlosti pomaly).

The electric guitar, modular synth, soprano saxophone and extensive singing have created a very well balanced combination of acoustic and electronic polarities inside this very much uncharted sound territory.
